UMSL (3-2) entered the match ranked No. 7 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) NCAA Division II Midwest Region poll.

The Prairie Stars picked up a point in No. 6 singles when
Hannah Blythe (8-4) landed a default win against Jennifer Hauer (6-1).

Salome Bleuer (10-3) fought to a 7-5, 6-7, 10-8 victory against
Jane Carter (12-4) in No. 1 singles, Marina Prediger (7-5) took a 6-2, 7-6 win against
Ana Boza Martin (8-9) in No. 2 singles, Annie Hays (10-4) turned in a 6-1, 7-5 victory against
Maegan Flight (11-4) in No. 3 singles, Leticia Lunge (6-6) recorded a 6-3, 6-2 win against
Kena Bere (10-6) in No. 4 singles and Janet Auclair (5-3) earned a 6-3, 6-2 victory against
Kaitlyn Thornhill (8-4) in No. 5 singles.

Lunge/Prediger (3-4) put together an 8-1 victory against Carter/Boza Martin (7-3) in No. 1 doubles, Kristine Lindal/Blueler (2-1) notched an 8-2 win against Bere/Thornhill (6-3) and Hays/Auclair (4-0) secured an 8-2 victory against Flight/Kate Dumsdorff (4-1) in No. 3 doubles.

The Prairie Stars begin their Spring Break trip, which consists of four matches. UIS opens with Christian Brothers University (12-8) on Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Southaven, MS. The Prairie Stars then take on the University of West Alabama (4-3) on Wednesday at 9 a.m. in Livingston, AL.

UIS then ventures to Pensacola, FL to go head-to-head with two opponents ranked in the ITA NCAA Division II national poll during the West Florida Tournament held at Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex. The Prairie Stars tangle with No. 13 Saint Leo University (6-2) on Friday at 1 p.m. CT. UIS then challenges No. 5 University of West Florida (11-0) on Saturday at 8 a.m. CT.

In the latest ITA NCAA Division II South Region rankings, West Florida is ranked No. 3 and Saint Leo is ranked No. 6.
