SPRINGFIELD, IL --- The Prairie Stars dominated William Jewell College on their Missouri road-trip, winning their first match of the spring season 6-2. On Sunday, the Prairie Stars couldn't contain the Rockhurst Hawks, losing the competition 7-2.

In doubles play, UIS was clicking on all cylinders as they swept the competition winning 8-2, 9-7, and 8-3. In the singles,
Jane Carter continued her dominance winning her match in straight sets 6-4,6-3. This victory extends Jane's winning streak to four-games. William Jewell took the next two matches in the second and third spot giving them a 2-1 lead in singles competition.
Maegan Flight went on to tie the competition as she won her match in straight sets 6-1, 6-2. Senior
Danielle Mendoza brought the win home for the Prairie Stars winning her match in straight sets 6-1, 6-1.

The Prairie Stars were defeated by the Rockhurst Hawks in their final match of the weekend. Kaitlyn Thronhill and
Kena Bere were able to earn a win in the doubles competition 8-3, but the Hawks fought back to take the other two wins in doubles competition.

Jane Carter was the only player for the Prairie Stars to steal a win in singles play against the Hawks and extended her winning streak to five-games. Carter's opponent had to forfeit due to an illness. Rockhurst did not let the Prairie Stars early success last for long. The Hawks took the rest of the singles competition winning five of the six matches.

The Prairie Stars are on the road this week as the travel to Cedar Rapids, Iowa to face Coe College and Wartburg College.
