LOUISVILLE, KY --- The Prairie Stars (8-18, 3-14) fell in their final road game of the season by a score of 92-55 to #4 ranked Bellarmine Knights. UIS scored just 17 points in the first half and was unable to keep up with the Knights potent offense.
Paxton Harmon was the lone Prairie Star to score in double-figures, scoring 18 points, hitting 4-of-9 from deep.
Down 6-2 early, Harmon hit one of his four three's to cut the deficit to just one about three minutes into the game. Over the next ten minutes, UIS scored just four points and was subject to a 23-4 run and trailed 29-9.
The deficit grew to as much as 28 just before the half on a last second three.
The Prairie Stars offense came alive in the second half as the Stars shot 39 percent from the floor and hit three triples --- two of which came from Harmon. Seven different Prairie Stars scored in the second half but UIS couldn't keep up with Bellarmine as the Knights shot 56.7 percent from the floor on the day, hitting 18-of-33 from deep.
Eddie Longmeyer added nine points and six rebounds while
Kaj Days had eight points off the bench.
UIS will return home to close out the regular season on Thursday to take on McKendree in what will serve as senior day. UIS will recognize
Paxton Harmon for his accomplishments on the court over the past two seasons. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM.
