Box Score QUINCY, IL --- The University of Illinois Springfield women's tennis team opened up their dual match season with a 9-0 sweep of Quincy University. The Hawks had no answer for the Prairie Stars as UIS did not surrender a set the entire match.

In doubles, the duo of Jane Carter and Kena Bere picked up an 8-2 decision in the top slot while Ana Boza Martin and Kaitlyn Thornhill carded an 8-6 win. Maegan Flight and Hana Iverson cruised to an 8-1 win in the third position to sweep doubles play.

Singles play followed suit as both Flight and Hannah Blythe pick up 6-0, 6-0 victories in the third and sixth slot, respectively. Boza Martin won her match 6-1, 6-1 while Thornhill completed her 2-0 day with a 6-3, 6-1 victory.

Carter and Bere handled things in the top two spots with a 6-1, 6-3 victory and 6-4, 6-2 win, respectively.

The Prairie Stars will return to the court on October 6^th when they travel to Lindenwood-Belleville for a 2 PM match.
