Prairie Stars Eye Post-Season in Final Three Games

SPRINGFIELD, IL --- With three games remaining in the regular season, the Prairie Stars are looking to advance to the GLVC tournament for the first time in the Division II era. Illinois Springfield currently sits in ninth place in the conference, half of a game behind Maryville, who UIS beat earlier in the season. UIS hosts Bellarmine on Friday night --- which will serve as senior night --- before traveling to Southern Indiana on Sunday and concluding the regular season at home on Wednesday against McKendree.

SETTING THE SCENE
UIS enters the final three games having won two of their last three games. UIS picked up a 6-1 non-conference win over Oakland City before taking down William Jewell 2-1 on the road.

Bellarmine will come to Springfield right behind UIS in the standings, fighting for their playoff hopes as well. Southern Indiana sits fourth in the league and is looking to clinch a home game in the opening round of the GLVC tournament.

McKendree is 13th in the conference and needs three victories to have a shot at making the conference tournament.

GLVC RANKINGS
The Prairie Stars rank sixth in the league in scoring average, scoring 1.867 goals per game. Southern Indiana is second in the league and are one of two teams to average over two goals per game. However, Bellarmine and McKendree are both in the bottom third of the league in scoring.

Zach Allevi has recorded a team-high six goals on the season, giving him 11 career goals, setting the Division II career record.

JUNIOR NETMINDER
In goal, Tommy Geile has been solid all season, ranking in the top-ten in goals against average (1.334), saves percentage (.753), and saves per game (4.07).

He needs ten more saves to break his mark from last season, which currently sits fourth on the all-time single season save list.

SENIOR DAY CEREMONY
After the conclusion of the men's game (approximately 7 pm), both the men's and women's team will honor the seniors on each team in the senior day ceremony. The men will recognize Mac Leverenz, Dylan Stockman, Zachary Allevi, Alejandro Inostroza, Nathan Berillo, and Kanye Sayon.
