Prairie Stars Earn 1-1 Draw with Drury

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Junior Kanye Sayon (Ghana) netted his second goal of the season to help the University of Illinois Springfield earn a 1-1 draw with Drury Sunday afternoon at Harrison Stadium.

  • The Panthers jumped on the Prairie Stars early, forcing sophomore goalkeeper Tommy Geile (O'Fallon, Mo.) to make a pair of saves in the first seven minutes before the Panthers got on the board in the eighth minute on Ben Bruce's fourth goal of the season.
  • The shots were nearly even in the first period with the hosts outshooting UIS 12-8. Geile finished the half with five saves.
  • In the second period, the Prairie Stars managed only three shots, but the third proved to be the equalizer when Kanye Sayon found the back of the net from five yards out in the 70th minute.
