Helped Glendale High School win three district titles and one conference championship ... In his senior year, Ruell captained his team to a state final four appearance ... Totalled 22 assists to rank second in the school record books for single-season helpers ... Was named to the all-conference and All-Southwest Region teams.
 
Ruell had a successful club career with the Springfield Soccer Club in Missouri. In 2013, he helped his club win the NPL Gateway Conference Championship, the Missouri State Cup and the Midwest Regional Tournament. This qualified his team to advance into the US Youth National Tournament.
 
Ruell is an Honor Roll Student at Glendale High School. He was named a District Finalist in Marketing for the Future Business Leaders of America
