KIRKSVILLE, MO - Truman State hit above .300 for majority of the match and recorded 12 aces as the University of Illinois Springfield volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision at Truman on Saturday afternoon at Pershing Arena.

Ashley Beaton (Wildwood, Mo.) had seven kills and six digs, while
Nikki Madoch (Algonquin, Ill.) reccorded four kills and two aces.

Nora Palermo (West Chicago, Ill.) also had two aces and three kills.
HOW IT HAPPENED- Truman jumped out to an 8-1 lead in the opening set and hit .542 with 16 kills on 24 swings to set the tone early with a 25-13 win. UIS hit just .105.
- The second set was tighter in the early going, with Truman leading by two. UIS then rattled off six in a row to force a timeout at 14-10 in the Prairie Stars favor.
- Out of the break, the Bulldogs would score six in a row of their own and never give up the lead again.
- The third set saw eight ties and a pair of lead changes and neither team could find a rhythm.
- Truman recorded 12 aces which were the most for the visitors in two years.
