SPRINGFIELD, IL - Despite a three-set victory from senior
Faith Hook late in the match, the University of Illinois Springfield was outdone by Truman, 5-4, on Tuesday afternoon at Washington Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED- UIS was down 2-1 after doubles. Sophomore Jane Carter (New Zealand) and freshman Jasmin Morgan (Acworth, Ga.) picked up the lone doubles point in an 8-3 victory in the the No. 1 position.
- Carter grabbed a 6-0, 7-5 win against Lauren Jin to even the score, but losses in the No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 spots put Trumana out front for good.
- Hook (Effingham, Ill.) grinded out a three-set win, 4-6, 6-0 and 10-8, but it was not going to be enough for UIS to win.
- A season ago the Prairie Stars dropped an 8-1 decision to the Bulldogs so they are excited about their improvement as a team.
