SPRINGFIELD, IL - The University of Illinois Springfield women's soccer team kicks off the GLVC schedule this weekend against Southern Indiana and Bellarmine. Game times are set for Friday at Kiwanis Stadium at 5 p.m. and Sunday in Louisville, Ky. at 11 a.m. CT.

The Prairie Stars dropped a pair of games last weekend to St. Francis and St. Xavier by an identical 2-1 scoreline. On Friday against St. Francis, the Prairie Stars fought back to tie the game in the second half on a goal from junior Nikki Auble (Plainfield, Ill.) but couldn't finish off the game as the hosts scored in the 110th minute of play to win the game. On Sunday, the Prairie Stars got on the board in the 20th minute when sophomore Sam Morin (Lake in the Hills, Ill.) scored her first career goal at UIS. St. Xavier responded to tie the game in the first half and win in the second.
