ST. CHARLES, Mo. - The University of Illinois Springfield women's soccer team fell to Lindenwood, 2-1, in its final scrimmage of the preseason Sunday afternoon at Harlen C. Hunter Stadium.

The Prairie Stars struck first on a free kick by junior Nikki Auble (Plainfield, Ill.) early in the second half but the hosts eventually tied the game on an own goal and then scored the go-ahead goal to earn the victory.

UIS kicks off the regular season next Friday, September 4 at Saint Francis.
