Jane Carter was once again the bright spot for the University of Illinois Springfield women's tennis team as she earned the win in an 8-1 loss against Southern Indiana on Saturday afternoon at Washington Park.

UIS walked away from doubles with a three-match deficit to make up against the Eagles (14-7, 3-3 GLVC). Carter stepped up in singles with a 6-2, 6-2, win in the No. 1 position. The freshman is now 12-2 overall in her first semester of collegiate action and went 4-0 in conference play.

The Prairie Stars take on Quincy in a non-conference match on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. The match is at Chatham Glenwood High.
