Jane Carter was having the best match in her young career as the Indianapolis team called the match with a 5-0 victory against the University of Illinois Springfield women's tennis team on Saturday afternoon at Washington Park.
At No. 1 singles, Carter was leading the 12th-ranked player in the country, 6-2, 1-0, when the Greyhounds clinched the match and decided due to the temperature to end the match at 5-0.
In doubles, Carter and
Danielle Mendoza was the lone pair to pick up any sets in the opening matches. They dropped an 8-5 decision to Allie Smith and Macey Speer.
The Prairie Stars face off with Division I Western Illinois on Thursday, April 2 at noon at Washington Park.
