Box Score OWENSBORO, IL - Senior
JJ Cravatta (Streator, Ill.) scored a season-high 17 points in the University of Illinois Springfield men's basketball team's 84-72 loss to Kentucky Welseyan Sunday afternoon at the Sportscenter.
Cravatta turned in a nearly perfect shooting performance, making 4-of-5 shots and all seven of his free throws. Junior
Paxton Harmon (Warsaw, Ill.) joined Cravatta in double figures with 10 points.

Richard Freeman (Indianapolis, Ind.) and
Zach Steinberg (Wildwood, Mo.) made the score 6-4 in favor of the Panthers five minutes into the game. Then the Panther's Ken-Jah Bosley knocked down the first of his four three pointers to kick start a 10-0 run for KWC to make the score 14-4. Bosley finished with a game-high 27 points.
UIS immediately responded with a three pointer from freshman
Bahari Amaya (Harrisburg, Ill.) and a dunk by Freeman to get back into the game. With the score 14-9 in favor of KWC, the hosts went on another run, this time a 12-3 run to break the game open with a 14-point lead, 26-12. Over the final seven minutes of the half, the Panthers increased their lead to as many as 25 points and took a 41-26 lead into the break.
The second half was a completely different story for the Prairie Stars. After turning the ball over 12 times in the first half, UIS only gave the ball away four times in the second period and converted 18-of-19 free throws.

Logan Gonce (St. Charles, Mo.) with 5:42 left in the game made the score 72-52. That started a 9-3 run that included five straight points from Cravatta to pull the Prairie Stars within 14 with four minutes left. The hosts responded again with six straight points to push the lead back to 20, 81-61 with 3:08 left to play.
UIS didn't go away though. Redshirt-freshman
Vince Walker (Ankeny, Iowa) scored eight points in the final 1:04 minutes to make the final score, 84-72.
