RENSSELAER, Ind. - A goal in the 72nd minute by St. Joseph's proved to be the game-winner as the University of Illinois Springfield men's soccer team fell to the Pumas, 1-0, Sunday afternoon at Minelli Field.

How It Happened
  • Geile made his only save of the first half at the 5:03 minute mark, denying the Pumas on their first attempt of the match.
  • UIS created chances to score around the 25 minute mark. Chappell's first attempt was saved by the Pumas' Adam Whybrow. Just 20 seconds later, Teichman's effort was also denied.
  • The shots were just 5-2 in favor of the hosts at the break, but the Pumas ramped up the pressure in the second half, outshooting UIS 14-4.
  • Both teams created scoring chances in the second period, but it wasn't until the 72nd minute that a breakthrough was found. The Pumas took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Alejandro Rosales, his third of the season.
  • The Prairie Stars managed just a pair of shots after the goal was scored, but neither was on-target.

Game Notes
  • The loss is the second consecutive 1-0 loss for the Prairie Stars after falling to Indianapolis 1-0 Friday night.
