"The team will use this experience to grow and mature as tennis players," said head coach
Tom Rees. "We are already looking forward to Wednesday which will be another chance to prove ourselves."
In doubles play,
Katie Kirschbaum and
Hannah Latif were able to take one game in the No. 3 slot.
At the No. 2 singles position, sophomore
Danielle Mendoza scraped up three games in the first set and one in the second, but eventually fell to Clara Piccamiglio. Senior
Janasha Prabhu also grabbed four games with one coming in the first set and three in the second set, but Daria Ivanova took home the victory.
The Prairie Stars now turn their attention to Lindenwood-Belleville on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at noon at Washington Park.
