SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - Nine players scored at least two points for the University of Illinois Springfield women's basketball team in the Prairie Stars' 81-40 rout of Robert Morris Springfield Monday night at the Recreation and Athletic Center.
Freshman 
Shelbi Patterson (Indianapolis, Ind.) matched a career-high with 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting and dished out seven assists, also a career high. Senior 
Courtney Knuckles (Poplar Bluff, Mo.) and junior 
Briana Starks scored 17 and 12 points, respectively, season-highs for both players. Post player 
Syerra Cunningham (Beach Park, Ill.) added nine points and 
Jessica Warren (University Park, Ill.) scored eight.
The Prairie Stars shot a season-best 48.5 percent from the floor (33-68) and owned a plus-16 rebounding margin. Starks led the way for the hosts with a career-high 12 boards while Cunningham grabbed eight. Junior 
Morgan Knorr (Savannah, Mo.) pulled down five rebounds and recorded a career-high six assists.
A three-pointer by the Eagles' Laci Porter at the 17:27 minute mark gave the visitors a 7-4 lead, its last lead of the game. On the very next possession, 
Courtney Knuckles knocked down her only three-ball of the contest to tie the game at seven, which kickstarted a 29-5 run over the next 11 minutes. UIS took a 40-21 lead into the break.
The Prairie Stars' defense stifled the Eagles in the second half, holding the visitors to just a 4-for-23 mark from the floor (17.4 percent) while forcing 15 turnovers. UIS scored 18 fast-break points in the second period to extend its lead to as many as 44 down the stretch.
Three players for Robert Morris Springfield scored in double figures led by Brandi Bradley with 16.
The Prairie Stars have a quiet Thanksgiving week before traveling to Chicago to face off with Illinois-Chicago in an exhibition on November 30.
