Biography

AS A JUNIOR (2016-17)
Ramsey was selected to the All-Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Third-Team. She appeared and started in all 26 games. Ramsey led UIS with 121 field goals, 44 steals, and 315 points. She averaged 12.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists per game. Ramsey tallied 32 blocks on the season. She had 23 points, five rebounds, five assists, four blocks, six steals vs. Missouri Southern State University (11/25/16). Ramsey scored 19 points on 6-of-11 (54.5 percent) shooting at Oakland City University (12/12/16). She scored season-high 24 points on 12-of-14 (85.7 percent) shooting vs. the University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL) (2/2/17). She had a three-game stretch vs. Lewis University, UMSL and Maryville University, where she converted 29-of-40 (72.5 percent) shots and scored 63 points. Ramsey had nine games in which she recorded a point, rebound, block, steal, and assist.
 
BEFORE UIS
 Ramsey spent two seasons with the Illinois Central College basketball team. As a freshman, she compiled averages of 11.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 0.9 blocks. Ramsey hit 115-of-310 (50 percent) shots from the floor. She was tabbed with National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Third Team All-American honors and NJCAA First Team All-Region XXIV recognition. Ramsey was named the Region XXIV Freshman of the Year and was selected to attend the NJCAA Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-Star Weekend. Illinois Central went 29-4 and finished the season ranked No. 3 in the NJCAA Division II national poll.
 
As a sophomore, Ramsey averaged 12.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and shot 53 percent from the floor. She was named to the NJCAA Division II All-American First Team, the NJCAA All-Region XXIV First Team and the NJCAA Division II All-Tournament First Team. The Cougars concluded the regular season ranked No. 2 in the NJCAA Division II national poll. Illinois Central claimed the NJCAA Region XXIV Tournament title. The Cougars closed out the NJCAA Division II National Tournament as the national runner-up. Ramsey was also selected as an academic all-American. During her career, Ramsey recorded averages of 11.7 points and 6.6 rebounds.
 
HIGH SCHOOL
Ramsey competed in basketball for four years with University High School in Normal, IL. She also represented the Pioneers in volleyball during her freshman and sophomore years.
 
In basketball, the Pioneers went 17-13 during her freshman year, 20-11 during her sophomore year, 25-7 during her junior year and 25-7 during her senior year. The Pioneers won an Illinois High School Association (IHSA) 3A regional title during her senior year. Ramsey won the team’s Most Improved Player Award as a junior. She earned Corn Belt Second Team All-Conference recognition as a junior and senior. Ramsey also received the team’s A.E.I.O.U. Award. The Pioneers went 87-38 during Ramsey’s tenure.
 
In volleyball, the Pioneers went 30-6 during her freshman year. The Pioneers went on to win an IHSA 3A sectional title during her sophomore year and finished 32-7. During Ramsey's two years with the volleyball team, the Pioneers went 67-13.
 
PERSONAL
Ramsey is pursuing a major in Business Administration. She is the daughter of Henry and Lynn Ramsey. Ramsey has three siblings; BreAnna, Brian and Brittani.
 
HOBBIES
Listening to music, traveling the world and spending time with the family
 
WHY I CHOSE UIS
I chose UIS because I was looking for a school close to home. The people I came in contact with were great on my visit. I wanted to be part of a program with great people and potential.
