Andrea Dorsey enters her second year as assistant coach for the Illinois Springfield women’s basketball program.

Dorsey joins the Prairie Stars after serving as a graduate assistant at Texas Tech, where she assisted in the daily operations of the women’s basketball program while also serving as video coordinator for the Lady Raiders.

Before joining the staff at Tech, Dorsey spent two years as an assistant coach at Franklin College. While at Franklin, she helped lead the Grizzlies to the 2010 HCAC regular-season and tournament championships along with an NCAA Tournament bid, which was the program's first in five years. She also served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach, assistant sports information director and taught a physical education strength and conditioning class for female students at Franklin.
 
A standout player at Millikin, Dorsey was a member of the 2005 Big Blue squad which won the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) championship and the NCAA Division III National Championship. She was an All-CCIW selection her junior and senior years along with serving as the team's co-captain. Off the floor, Dorsey earned mention on the CCIW All-Academic team.
 
A native of Decatur, Illinois, Dorsey graduated from Millikin in 2008 with a degree in political science and business. She also earned a master's degree in exercise and sport science with an emphasis in sport management while at Texas Tech.
