AS A SOPHOMORE (2016-17)
Jones appeared in 16 games. She hit 3-of-8 (37.5 percent) shots from 3-point range on the season. Jones had five steals. She scored six points on 2-of-4 (50 percent) shooting from the perimeter at Kentucky Wesleyan University (12/19/16). Jones had two steals against Oakland City University (12/12/16) and Blackburn College (12/31/16). 
 
AS A FRESHMAN (2015-16)
Jones saw action in 26 games, starting in seven games and averaged 14.3 minutes per game. She averaged 1.8 points per game with a season high of nine points against UMSL (2/4/15). Jones totaled 17 steals on the season. She tallied 24 assists with a high of four vs. Oakland City (2/1/16). Jones ended with a .417 free-throw percentage, making 5-of-12 shots from the charity stripe. She hit 3-of-4 (75 percent) buckets against Lincoln University of Missouri (11/21/15).
 
HIGH SCHOOL
During her time at Danville High School, Jones competed in volleyball for four years, basketball for four years, dance for four years and track and field for three years.
 
In basketball, Jones made the varsity squad as a freshman and began her three-year tenure as a captain during her sophomore year. Jones compiled averages of 10.0 points, 5.0 assists and 4.0 steals. She led the state of Illinois among all classes with 129 assists. Jones received First Team All-Big 12 Conference recognition and was named the conference Defensive Player of the Year. Danville finished 17-11 and set a school record in wins at the time.
 
As a junior, Jones repeated as the Big 12 Conference Defensive Player of the Year and was named to the Big 12 All-Conference First Team. She was also tabbed at the McDonald’s Vermillion County Athlete of the Month in January 2014. During her senior year, Jones received Big 12 First Team All-Conference recognition. The Vikings went 14-13.
 
Danville earned sixth in its Illinois High School Association (IHSA) 2A sectional and qualified for state in dance during her freshman year.
 
In track and field, Jones represented Danville’s 4x100-meter relay team for three years. Danville took fourth in the IHSA 3A sectional with a time of 48.77 seconds and qualified for the state meet. The Vikings replicated their time of 48.77 seconds in the state prelims.
 
During her sophomore year, the Vikings placed second at sectionals in the 4x100 with a time of 48.27 seconds to qualify for state. Danville finished second in its IHSA 3A sectional. The Vikings advanced to finals in the 4x100 with a time of 48.21 seconds during the prelims. Danville charged to fourth in the 4x100 finals with a time of 48.15 seconds.
 
During her junior year, Danville secured fifth in the 4x100 with a time of 49.33 seconds in the IHSA 3A sectional to qualify for state. The Vikings qualified for the state finals after clocking a time of 48.40 seconds during the 4x100 prelims. Danville captured fourth in the state finals for the 4x100 with a time of 48.15 seconds.
 
Throughout her career, Jones set personal-best performances, which include 13.02 seconds in the 100; 27.44 seconds in the 200; 17-feet, 1.25 inches in the long jump and 35 feet, 1 inch in the triple jump.
 
Jones was a valedictorian and a scholar athlete for Danville.
 
CLUB
Jones competed in club basketball for four years. She started with the 15U Lady Untouchables in 2010. Jones represented the 16/17 Central Illinois Storm in 2012 and 2013. She also competed for the 17U Best Choice team in 2014.
 
Jones also represented the Legacy dance team.
 
PERSONAL
Jones is pursuing a Biology major with an emphasis on Pre-Medical. She is the daughter of Shawn and Michelle Jones. Jones ha two sibling, Shawneis and Shawn Jr.

I chose UIS because the campus size is perfect and I liked the community feel for the CAP program and the basketball team.
