Dana Morgan joins the UIS basketball staff for his second season under head coach Bill Walker.
Morgan comes from Rend Lake Junior College where he served as an assistant for two seasons, guiding the team to a 50-14 mark in that time. In 2013, he helped coach the Warriors to the Division II NJCAA National Championship. At Rend Lake, Morgan was primarily responsible for the development of guards, while also assisting the head coach in the day-to-day operations of the program.
Morgan has also been the assistant director of the Southwestern Illinois Jets Basketball Club since 2008 and has experience in developing relationships with college coaches to help gain exposure for his players. He also touts high school coaching experience with stops at the Riverview Gardens School and East St. Louis Districts.
