Chad Harmon

Chad Harmon is in his second year as a member of the Illinois Springfield men’s basketball coaching staff.

During the 2011-12 season, Harmon helped coach the Praire Stars to thier first Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament appearance and 12 conference victories. UIS also boasted an all-region performer and three All-GLVC  honorees.

In addition to his duties at UIS, Harmon spent the summer of 2012 as the video coordinator for the WNBA's Washington Mystics.

Harmon joined the Prairie Stars after spending two seasons as an assistant coach at Lincoln College in Lincoln, Ill.

Harmon experienced success with the Lynx as he helped them to consecutive national championships in both 2010 and 2011. While in Lincoln, Harmon coached the NJCAA Division II Player of the Year and a first team All-American.

Harmon’s duties with the Lynx included braking down game film, preparing scouting reports and running the scout team. He also helped plan road trips and was involved with all aspects of recruiting.

Prior to his stint at Lincoln, Harmon was a student manager and later a student assistant coach under both Steve Merfeld and Marty Simmons at the University of Evansville.
 
A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Harmon graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Educational Studies from the University of Evansville.
