The UIS men's soccer team returns to action Wednesday, traveling to Drury for an 8:30 p.m. GLVC matchup. The game was moved from its original start time due to high temperatures.

The Prairie Stars opened conference play last week with a scoreless draw against No. 11 Lincoln. Freshman goalkeeper Kevin Kardel played a key role in the result, making seven saves to record his first collegiate shutout. His performance earned him GLVC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

UIS will look to get back on the front foot offensively and return to its scoring ways against a Drury team it has not lost to since 2014. The Prairie Stars drew with the Panthers in 2025 and had won four consecutive meetings before that.

UIS has been limited in its shot production early in the season and will look to create more opportunities for its top attacking players against the Panthers.

The Prairie Stars were picked 13th in the GLVC preseason poll, while Drury was selected sixth. The Panthers enter Wednesday's match with a 3-1 overall record and a 1-0 mark in conference play after defeating Truman State, 3-1.

David Huang leads Drury with two goals this season, while four additional Panthers have scored one goal apiece. Ben Barnett has started all four matches in goal, recording seven saves, a .700 save percentage and a 0.75 goals-against average.
