The llinois Springfield women's volleyball team will continue its season this weekend with three matches at the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational in Owensboro, Kentucky.

The Prairie Stars are 0-4 after facing challenging competition at the Ferris State Invitational, including two teams ranked among the top 10 in NCAA Division II. UIS will open the tournament Friday at 12:30 p.m. against Davis & Elkins, followed by matches against Arkansas-Fort Smith at 2 p.m. Saturday and tournament host Kentucky Wesleyan at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Makenna Cox leads UIS with 38 kills and 46 points through the first four matches. She is averaging 3.17 kills and 3.83 points per set. Madi Siefken has contributed 16 kills, 29 digs and six total blocks. Emma Frazier and Tuana Yuce have each recorded 24 digs. Frazier has also posted a .925 reception percentage.

Davis & Elkins enters the tournament at 0-4 after being swept in all four matches at the Catawba/Belmont Abbey Tournament. The Senators have several players contributing to their attack, led by Rylan Sharp with 10 kills, Madison McGarry with eight and Kaylee Vanjo with seven.

Liene Duijn leads Davis & Elkins with 44 assists, while Emily Besten has added 35 assists. Neve Norris has recorded 46 digs, and Taylor Demankowski has contributed 35.

Arkansas-Fort Smith is 3-2 through five matches and most recently swept Arkansas-Monticello, 3-0, on Tuesday. The Lions have received strong production at the net, with Aspen Olson and Elza Jansone each recording 12 total blocks. Emily Parker has added 11 blocks, while Lydia Pitts has nine blocks and leads the team with 61 digs.

Mayli Whetter has directed the UAFS offense with 147 assists through 16 sets, averaging 9.19 assists per set. She has also recorded 11 kills and nine service aces. 

UIS will close the tournament against Kentucky Wesleyan, which enters the weekend at 2-2 after earning wins over Shawnee State and Kentucky State.

The Panthers have received significant offensive production from outside hitters Emmy Goering and Hadley Wolfe. Goering leads the team with 50 kills, while Wolfe has added 47 kills and is hitting .337.

Mackenzie Bristol has recorded 19 total blocks through four matches. Kentucky Wesleyan has also received 78 assists each from Ana De Sevilla-Acosta and Gracie Lewis. De Sevilla-Acosta has added 10 service aces and is hitting .308.

All three matches will be played at the Woodward Health & Recreation Center. Tickets are $10 per person and provide access to all matches for that day. Live statistics will be available through Kentucky Wesleyan, and streaming will be provided through FloCollege.
