The Illinois Springfield men's soccer team continues its road stand Wednesday evening, traveling to longtime opponent Quincy for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.

The Prairie Stars enter the matchup at 0-6-1 overall and 0-3-1 in GLVC play, while Wednesday marks the 39th meeting between the two programs dating back to 1978. UIS has won three of the last five meetings, though Quincy claimed a 2-0 victory in last year's matchup in Springfield.

As the Prairie Stars continue through the GLVC schedule, UIS will look to build on the opportunities it has created in the attacking third. Speed has been a key part of the Stars' attack, led by sophomore Gentil Selemani, who has scored three goals this season. Senior forward Carter Downen also found the back of the net for the first time this season in UIS' most recent outing, while Robin Lemke Bergseth and newcomer Jacob Shaw have added to the team's pace and attacking options.

Quincy enters Wednesday's matchup at 4-3-1 overall and 3-0-2 in GLVC play. The Hawks are unbeaten in conference action after facing a challenging non-conference schedule to open the season.

Quincy most recently played to a scoreless draw at Rockhurst. Earlier this month, the Hawks picked up a 1-0 victory over then-No. 13 Missouri S&T.

The Hawks have been led offensively by Leo Cann, who has scored six goals in eight games. Quincy has also been strong defensively, with goalkeeper Jake Offerman posting a 0.57 goals-against average and an .833 save percentage.
