The Illinois Springfield women's soccer team returns to Kiwanis Stadium on Wednesday, Sept. 16, hosting Truman State at 3 p.m. in a GLVC matchup.

The Prairie Stars enter Wednesday's contest with a 3-2 overall record and a 1-1 mark in conference play after a narrow 1-0 loss at Drury last Wednesday. UIS was held without a goal in the midweek matchup before having a bye on Saturday.

Wednesday begins an important stretch of conference play for the Prairie Stars as they enter the middle portion of the regular season. With several GLVC matches ahead, UIS will look to build its conference resume and put itself in position for a potential GLVC Tournament berth.

The Prairie Stars have received productive offensive play from Mallory Herber and Sophia Davila. Both players are averaging more than 2.5 shots per game, while Davila is averaging 2.0 shots on goal per contest.

Truman State comes to Springfield with a 1-2-3 overall record and a 0-1-2 conference mark. The Bulldogs are still looking for their first GLVC victory after playing to a 2-2 draw at Maryville last week. Truman State previously dropped a 1-0 decision at Rockhurst.

The Bulldogs have spread their scoring across nine student-athletes this season, with three players recording two goals. Quinn Nauman leads Truman State with two goals and two assists.

Mikayla Thomas has played 370 minutes in goal for the Bulldogs and owns an .846 save percentage.

UIS won the most recent meeting between the two programs but trails 2-8-2 in the all-time series.
