The UIS athletics department is pleased to announce the hiring of Mara Martinez as the new Assistant Coach for the UIS golf program. Martinez will be working with both the men's and women's teams.

Mara Martinez, originally from Spain, joins UIS after completing her collegiate playing career at Emmanuel University. During her time there, she was named Conference Carolinas Golfer of the Week on six occasions, earned First Team All-Conference honors, and tallied multiple collegiate victories. Martinez also brings international competitive experience and a strong interest in the mental side of golf and player development.

Josh Edison, Head Coach of UIS Golf, expressed his enthusiasm about the addition of Martinez to the coaching staff. "Mara brings a strong combination of collegiate success, competitive experience, and a proven understanding of what it takes to compete at a high level. Her passion for player development and the mental side of the game will be a great addition to both our men's and women's programs."
