Elaine Grant is tied for fourth place after two rounds at the NCAA Division II Women's Golf East Regional on Monday.
Competing as an individual, Grant posted rounds of 76 and 75 for a 36-hole total of 151, placing her in a three-way tie for fourth in the field. Monday's play was adjusted to 36 holes, and Grant delivered steady results across both rounds.
Grant's consistency has been key early in the tournament. She is averaging 4.20 on par-4 holes, tied for sixth in the field, and 4.88 on par-5 holes, tied for second.
Findlay's Ashleigh Duflo leads the field at 146 (+2), followed by Missouri-St. Louis' Wilma Zanderau at 148 (+4) and Findlay's Emma Myers at 150 (+6).
The top four teams after two rounds are Findlay (+29), Grand Valley State (+40), Missouri-St. Louis (+47) and McKendree (+49). Ferris State and UIndy are four strokes back of McKendree, with West Chester one stroke behind them.
Those standings directly affect the individual race, as only players not on advancing teams are eligible for the remaining national qualifying spots. With one round remaining, Grant is currently in position among that group and holds a three-stroke advantage over West Chester's Hanna Lignell and UIndy's Ava Ray.
The final round is expected to be completed Tuesday or Wednesday, with tournament officials monitoring weather conditions that could impact the schedule.
