The UIS women's tennis team picked up a 5-2 victory against Quincy at home on Friday afternoon. UIS started strong, sweeping all three doubles matches to take the first point of the day. Ema Norma Bordean and Niamh Grogan dominated 6-1 at No. 1, Maria Garcia Gama and Alisha Deogaonkar won 6-4 at No. 2, and Jane Carter with Cristina Mendoza Romero cruised to a 6-1 win at No. 3.

In singles play, Ema Norma Bordean battled in a tight three-set match at No. 1 but fell 3-6, 7-6 (4), 6-7 (2). Cristina Mendoza Romero secured a straight-set 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 2, followed by Alisha Deogaonkar 6-3, 6-2 and Niamh Grogan 7-5, 6-2. Jane Carter dropped a heartbreaker at No. 5, 4-6, 6-2, 6-7 (5), while Maria Garcia Gama sealed the team victory with a 6-2, 4-6, 10-6 win at No. 6.
