UIS Women’s Tennis Looks to Keep Momentum Against Purdue Northwest

3/5/2026 2:00:00 PM

The UIS women's tennis team returns to the court for another home match this weekend, hosting Purdue Northwest at the Springfield Racquet and Fitness Club at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be a rematch, as the Pride claimed a 5-2 win in Hammond in the fall.

Illinois Springfield (3-6)
UIS continues to sharpen its play as conference competition approaches. The Prairie Stars picked up a 5-2 home victory over Roosevelt last week, showing improvement across the lineup.

The Prairie Stars enter the weekend with momentum. Emma Norma Bordean has won two consecutive matches at the No. 1 singles position, while the doubles team of Jane Carter and Cristina Mendoza Romero has found a rhythm with three straight wins together.

Purdue Northwest (3-6)
Purdue Northwest enters the match with an identical record but has dropped its last two contests, falling 4-3 to Walsh and 7-0 to Northwood.

The Pride are led by top singles player Eloisa Andriantefihasina. Purdue Northwest has managed to pick up individual wins in most matches this season, though the team has struggled to put together consistent results across the full lineup.
