Calista Stahlhut, a sophomore starting pitcher for the UIS Softball team, has been recognized as the GLVC Pitcher of the Week. Stahlhut delivered a pair of remarkable performances at the UIS Softball Capital City McDonald's Classic, contributing two wins to the team's successful 3-1 weekend.
Stahlhut's key achievements during the weekend included pitching two complete games. In the first game against Davenport on Thursday, she pitched seven innings, allowing just three hits and two unearned runs while striking out seven batters. In her second appearance against Ohio Dominican on Friday, Stahlhut tossed an eight-inning shutout, allowing just five hits and striking out six to keep the Prairie Stars afloat before
Olivia DeLuca delivered a walk-off in the eighth inning.
Her weekly totals were 13 strikeouts across 15 innings pitched without an earned run allowed.Â
