The UIS women's cross country team will take on one of the largest and strongest NCAA Division II fields in the country Saturday at the Lewis Crossover in Romeoville, Ill. The meet will bring together top programs from across the Midwest and beyond, giving the Prairie Stars an opportunity to measure themselves against high-level competition.

The field includes teams UIS does not regularly face, including Biola, Colorado Christian and Florida Southern, along with regional opponents including Saginaw Valley State and Findlay.

The meet features less Great Lakes Valley Conference representation than in previous years, but it will mark the first meeting of the fall between UIS and host Lewis.

UIS will race 12 runners in the women's 6K. The competition provides valuable experience as the Prairie Stars continue to build toward the postseason, while offering an important benchmark against a deep and talented field.
