Illinois Springfield men's cross country heads to Huntsville, Ala., for the Charger Invitational, hosted by Alabama-Huntsville at John Hunt Park. The men's 8K race is scheduled for 8 a.m. and will open the day's competition ahead of the women's 6K.

UIS last competed at the Lewis Crossover in early October. The Charger XC Invitational marks the Prairie Stars' final regular-season competition and provides another opportunity to test themselves against programs outside their usual competition, including Ashland, Charleston (W.Va.), Florida Southern, Lee and Mississippi College.

Illinois Springfield will enter 15 runners in the men's 8K: Charlie Borlin, Dom Cantarini, Chase Cooley, Carson Cowling, River Derby, Dylan Gehl, Gavin Hill, Joey Karlesky, Ryan Kries, Elijah Mendoza, Lucas Naugle, Matt Padilla, Tim Starwalt, Garrett Wagoner and Owen Whelan.

With the postseason approaching, the Prairie Stars will look to close the regular season with a strong performance and carry momentum into the championship portion of the schedule.
