Illinois Springfield Prairie Stars men's golf will compete in a challenging five-event spring schedule as the program continues its first year led by head coach Josh Edison.

The Prairie Stars showed steady improvement during the fall season, highlighted by a second-place finish at the Bearcat Dual Gender and a fourth-place showing at the Arch Cup. The team enters the spring looking to build on that momentum.

UIS will open the spring portion of its schedule at the Las Vegas Warrior Invitational on March 11-12 at The Legacy Golf Club in Henderson, Nevada.

The Prairie Stars then return to Illinois for the Dan Salisbury Memorial Collegiate Invitational on March 23-24 at Red Tail Run Golf Course.

Competition continues March 30-31 at the Flyers Spring Invitational at Bolingbrook Golf Club. The Prairie Stars will then travel to Indiana for the Ken Partridge Invitational on April 5-7 at Purgatory Golf Club.

The postseason begins April 22-24 at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship at Rock Hollow Golf Club. Coach Edison said the spring slate was built to challenge the Prairie Stars against some of the strongest competition in the region and nationally.

"The guys made real strides this fall and have been sharp in their offseason work," Edison said. "We put together an ambitious spring schedule that will push us and give us chances to line up against some of the top programs in the country. I like the direction this group is heading and I'm looking forward to seeing them compete this spring."
