The UIS men's golf team is tied for ninth place after the first two rounds of the Midwest Collegiate at Rock Hollow Golf Club in Peru, Ind. The 54-hole tournament concludes with a final round on Tuesday.
UIS posted two rounds of 304 on Monday for a 36-hole total of 608 strokes, even with Cedarville. Tiffin leads the 17-team field at 578.
Peyton Woods paced the Prairie Stars with a strong opening round of 68 followed by a 76, giving him a two-round total of 144 that has him tied for fourth individually. Vilgot Arleback carded 74 in the morning and 77 in the afternoon for a 151Â total.
Sacha Lamraski improved four shots in round two with a 76 after opening with an 80. Jake Baldin shaved five strokes off his morning round with a 77, while Julien Babineau bounced back from an 85 by closing the day with a 75.
