Junior transfer
Peyton Woods, a Springfield native, has been named GLVC Men's Golf Player of the Week following an outstanding performance at the Midwest Collegiate earlier this week.
Woods tied for second place overall in a 95-golfer field, carding rounds of 68-76-67 for a total score of 211 (-5). He finished tied for third in par-4 scoring average (3.97) and fourth in total birdies (14), helping the Prairie Stars remain competitive at the tournament.
This marks Woods' first career Player of the Week honor and highlights the immediate impact he has made since joining the team this fall. The last Prairie Star to earn the award was
Jake Baldin in October 2024.
The Prairie Stars return to action at McKendree's Bearcat Dual Gender on October 20-21 in Caseyville, Ill.
