The Illinois Springfield men's tennis team opens its fall season this weekend in Allendale, Mich. at the ITA Midwest Small College Regional, hosted by Grand Valley State. The Prairie Stars will face key in-region opponents while giving newcomers a chance to make their mark.
In singles action,
Pablo Herrera and
Antonio Ayerbe Streubel compete in Flight A, with
Lin En Tan in Flight B. Flight C features
Kai Van-Roon,
Lukas Pieringer,
Luke Pennington, and
Miran Todorovic, while Flight D includes
Colton Pazdera. Todorovic, Pennington, and Pazdera are new to the program and will make their Prairie Stars debut this weekend.
Singles play begins at 8:00 a.m. Saturday and continues through the weekend. Flights A and B will play their Round of 64 and Round of 32 matches on Saturday. Flight C will start with a Saturday Round of 32, while Flight D plays an elimination Round of 16 on Saturday evening to open up. Subsequent rounds, including quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals, will follow according to each flight's schedule. Full draws and schedules are available on the

Doubles matches start Saturday at 5:00 p.m. In the Flight A Round of 32,
Pablo Herrera and
Kai Van-Roon face Grand Valley State opponents, with
Lin En Tan and Antonio Ayerbe-Streubel competing against GVSU at the same time. In Flight C at 7:00 p.m., the pairs of
Miran Todorovic/
Lukas Pieringer and
Luke Pennington/
Colton Pazdera will take the court.
Consolation matches will also be held alongside the main draw throughout the tournament.
