The UIS men's soccer team wraps up a three-game road stretch this weekend with a pair of GLVC contests in Missouri. The Prairie Stars face Rockhurst on Friday night in Kansas City before traveling to Bolivar to take on Southwest Baptist on Sunday afternoon.

Illinois Springfield (2-3-1, 1-2 GLVC)
UIS is coming off its best offensive performance of the season, a 5-3 victory at Truman State on Sunday. Five different Stars found the back of the net, including Jero Bencomo, Robin Lemke Bergseth, Spencer Martin, Josh Conrad, and sophomore defender Jack Hudson, who has now scored three goals this season — all off headers — to take over the team scoring lead. Corne Boshoff follows with two goals, while six other Prairie Stars have scored once.

The goalkeeper position has seen depth and rotation early in the year. Edoardo Pinna started Sunday's win, while Landon Amick and Joe Brudnak have also logged starts.

UIS owns a 7-16-3 all-time record against Rockhurst but is unbeaten in the last five meetings (3-0-2 since 2019). Against Southwest Baptist, UIS is a perfect 5-0, including a 1-0 mark in Bolivar.

Rockhurst (3-2-1, 2-0-1 GLVC)
The Hawks have started conference play strong, drawing at UMSL and earning wins over top GLVC teams McKendree and Maryville. Six different players have scored for Rockhurst, led by Blake Barrick and Immanuel Wayoro with two goals each.

In goal, Franco Briani Brunoro has started all three GLVC matches, making 11 saves and posting a 0.89 goals-against average.

Southwest Baptist (3-4, 0-3 GLVC)
The Bearcats are seeking their first GLVC win after facing three of the league's top teams to open the slate. SBU's last victory came in non-conference play on Sept. 10 against UHSP.

Offensively, Giovanni Cascone, Myles Paniagua, and Piotr Rapczynski each have two goals, while Iker Lorenzo leads the squad with three assists. Jan-Henry Schafer has been the full-time goalkeeper, recording 18 saves with a 1.29 goals-against average.
