Prairie Stars in Third After Two Rounds at Kansas City Cup

The UIS women's golf team sits in third place after two rounds at the Kansas City Cup, held at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithville, Mo.

The Prairie Stars posted rounds of 310 and 313 for a 36-hole total of 623. McKendree leads the tournament at 614, with Maryville just one shot back in second at 615.

UIS was paced by Elaine Grant, who is tied for second overall with a score of 148. Grant opened with a 76 and came back strong with a 72 in the second round, standing at 2-over-par for the tournament.

Lia Rody is tied for ninth after rounds of 76 and 81 for a 157 total, while Valentina Torrealba is tied for 12th at 159, improving by one stroke from round one to round two.

Ira Joshi sits in 16th place at 162 after rounds of 78 and 84, and Yi-Ting Hsieh is tied for 21st with 167, highlighted by an 81 in the second round. Playing as an individual, Fizreen Ahmadfadzir is tied for 27th after carding 93 and 83 for a total of 176.
