The Illinois Springfield women's tennis team begins its 2025 fall season this weekend at a tournament hosted by Purdue Northwest at Dowling Park in Hammond, Ind.

The Prairie Stars will open play on Saturday afternoon with a 2:00 p.m. matchup against Valparaiso before returning Sunday morning for a 9:00 a.m. contest against host Purdue Northwest.

This weekend marks the first look at a new-look UIS lineup. The Prairie Stars welcome freshmen Alisha Deogaonkar, Jane Carter, and Maria Garcia Gama, who will make their collegiate debuts. They join a returning core of Cristina Mendoza Romero, Ema Norma Bordean, and Niamh Grogan, giving UIS a mix of experience and new talent to launch the fall campaign.
