The Illinois Springfield men's cross country team fielded a partial squad Friday evening at the Bradley Intercollegiate, finishing fifth out of 23 teams at Detweiller Park.

The Prairie Stars scored 184 points and posted a 2:15:14 total time, just six points behind Great Lakes Valley Conference rival Truman State. UIS finished well ahead of GLVC foes Missouri-St. Louis, Maryville, McKendree and Quincy.
Daniel Giacomini paced UIS with a 28th-place finish in 26 minutes, 21 seconds. Freshman
Charlie Borlin followed in 35th at 26:32 in his collegiate 8K debut. Junior

Charlie Serrahn (73rd, 27:47) completed the top seven for UIS, which averaged 27:02 across its scoring runners.

The Prairie Stars will field their full squad Saturday, Sept. 27, at Wisconsin-Parkside's Lucian Rosa Invitational. The meet will take place at Parkside's Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course, the site of this fall's NCAA Division II Regional.
