The UIS men's tennis team dropped a GLVC road match at Maryville on Saturday, 6-1, falling to 0-2 in conference play.

Match Recap

• In doubles play, Viktor Karpati and Antonio Ayerbe Streubel were defeated 6-3 at No. 1, while Pablo Herrera and Lin En Tan fell 6-2 at No. 2. UIS did not field a third doubles team, conceding the point.
• Karpati put up a strong fight at No. 1 singles but ultimately fell 6-4, 6-4. Herrera recorded the Prairie Stars' lone victory of the day at No. 2 singles with a convincing 6-2, 6-2 win.
• Ayerbe Streubel (6-3, 7-5) and Lin En Tan (6-3, 7-5) both pushed their opponents but came up short in straight sets. Lukas Pieringer was defeated 6-2, 6-2 at No. 5, and UIS did not compete at the No. 6 singles spot.
