The Illinois Springfield men's track & field team will travel to Edwardsville, Ill. to compete in the SIUE Cougar Classic on Saturday.

Meet Preview
The meet gives the Prairie Stars a valuable opportunity to race after last weekend's Jim Vargo Invitational at Bellarmine was canceled due to weather. Dom Cantarini and Finn Loken are entered in the 1,500-meters, while Lucas Naugle will race in the 800-meter later in the afternoon.

GLVC Performance List Outlook
Several Prairie Stars remain in strong positions within the GLVC rankings. Ryan Jones and Isaac Cortes are both currently inside the top 24 in the 800 meters, while Cortes, Aidan Donohue, and Gabe Martinez all rank among the top 12 in the 1,500.

In the 5,000-meter run, UIS holds a commanding presence, with Noah Tegeler, Joey Karlesky, Briar Nevills, and Matt Padilla ranked 4th through 7th. Brock Loftus, Dom Cantarini, Finn Loken, and Aidan Donohue also sit inside the top 24.

The Prairie Stars have dominated the early-season 10,000-meter rankings, with 12 athletes in the top 24—including those ranked 4th through 10th. Additionally, Ryan Jones is ranked 9th in the steeplechase.
