The Illinois Springfield men's tennis team fell 7-0 to Missouri-St. Louis on Friday afternoon in its GLVC opener. The Prairie Stars are now 0-8 on the season and 0-1 in conference play.

• UMSL secured the doubles point with a 6-0 win at No. 1 over Viktor Karpati and Antonio Ayerbe Streubel. Pablo Herrera and Lin En Tan put up a fight at No. 2, but came up short, 6-4. The Tritons took the No. 3 doubles match by default, as UIS was unable to field a sixth player.
• In singles action, Karpati fell 6-4, 6-0 at No. 1. Herrera won the opening set in No. 2 singles, but dropped the second and was narrowly edged in a third-set tiebreak, falling 6-4, 0-6, 11-9. Ayerbe Streubel battled in the No. 3 spot but lost 6-3, 6-4. Lin En Tan lost 6-1, 6-3 at No. 4, while Lukas Pierenger was defeated 6-2, 6-2 at No. 5. UMSL also secured the No. 6 singles match by default, as UIS was unable to field a sixth player.
