This Week in UIS Athletics | Nov. 10-16

11/9/2025 4:00:00 PM

It's the final week of the regular season for UIS volleyball as the Prairie Stars head on the road for two key GLVC matchups. UIS men's and women's basketball also open the 2025-26 season on the road. Follow along for updates throughout the week, or sign up for email alerts for your favorite UIS teams!

Friday, Nov. 14
4:00 p.m. CT (5:00 p.m. ET) – Women's Basketball at Hillsdale
UIS opens the season in Michigan with the first game of a two-day set at Hillsdale. The Prairie Stars bring in nine newcomers as head coach Olivia Birt begins her second year. UIS was picked 12th in the GLVC Preseason Poll, while Hillsdale—coming off a 24-10 season—was slotted fifth in the GMAC.

4:45 p.m. – Men's Basketball vs. Roosevelt
UIS starts its season against Roosevelt in Kenosha, Wis. The Lakers, now in their second year as an NCAA DII member, were voted last in the GLIAC preseason poll following a 9-20 campaign. UIS defeated Roosevelt 93-76 at TRAC last fall.

6:00 p.m. – Volleyball at Maryville
UIS (12-12, 4-7 GLVC) travels to Maryville to face the Saints (14-11, 7-4). The teams played a tight five-setter in non-conference action earlier this year, won by Maryville. With two GLVC Tournament spots still up for grabs among a cluster of teams—including UIS—this match carries major weight. Maryville enters the weekend fifth in the standings and has already secured its tournament berth.

Saturday, Nov. 15
3:00 p.m. – Volleyball at Missouri S&T
UIS heads to Rolla for a potentially decisive regular-season finale against Missouri S&T (9-16, 4-7 GLVC). Both teams are fighting for a GLVC Tournament spot, and UIS holds a 14-6 advantage in the all-time series.

4:00 p.m. CT (5:00 p.m. ET) – Women's Basketball vs. Tiffin
The Prairie Stars remain on the Hillsdale campus to face Tiffin, projected 12th in the GMAC. UIS leads the all-time series 4-2, but Tiffin took last year's early-season meeting 70-63.

6:00 p.m. – Men's Basketball at Parkside
UIS closes its weekend in Kenosha against Parkside. The Rangers were picked third in the GLIAC and are coming off a 14-15 season. UIS won last year's matchup 60-43 at TRAC.
