The Illinois Springfield volleyball team returns home this weekend to host Quincy on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. Fans are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes — and those who do will receive free admission.

Illinois Springfield (11-10, 3-5 GLVC)
UIS is coming off a strong weekend road trip, defeating both Southwest Baptist and Drury in back-to-back matches. On Friday, the Prairie Stars took down SBU 3-1, winning every statistical category, including a 75-54 advantage in digs and a 56-46 edge in kills. Kendall Johnson led the match with 19 kills, while setter Erica Sledge tallied 43 assists. Makenna Cox added an all-around performance with 16 kills and 22 digs.

UIS then completed a dramatic comeback at Drury on Saturday. After dropping the first two sets 25-23 and 25-20, the Prairie Stars rallied to win the next three, 25-19, 25-23, and 15-11. Sledge dished out 45 assists, while Cox recorded 20 kills and 23 digs. The team controlled the net with an 11-3 block advantage, including six from Lexie Vick, and landed six aces — three from Madison Siefken.

With three weekends remaining in the regular season, UIS continues to push toward a GLVC Tournament spot. UMSL (8-0) and Rockhurst (7-0) sit atop the standings, while Indianapolis and Quincy round out the current top four. UIS remains in the mix with several favorable matchups still ahead.

Individually, Sledge ranks fourth in the GLVC in assists per set (7.99). Cox stands fourth in kills per set (3.72) and leads the conference in both service aces per set (0.51) and total aces (38).

Quincy (17-5, 6-2 GLVC)
The Hakws enter the weekend on a four-match win streak, including recent victories over Drury (3-1) and Southwest Baptist (3-0). Setter Elena Kasavica ranks second in the league with 10.71 assists per set and 825 total on the season. Susanna Beretti has surpassed 350 kills this year, while Janelle Pye-Blacknard provides a strong second scoring option.
