The Illinois Springfield men's golf team sits in fifth place midway through the McKendree Bearcat Dual Gender at Far Oaks Golf Club after play was suspended Monday evening due to darkness.
The Prairie Stars recorded a 295 in the opening round and reached 209 strokes through 11-13 holes of Round Two, giving them a current total of 504 strokes. UIS trails Rockhurst and Upper Iowa, who share the top spot, along with Quincy and Kentucky Wesleyan.
Julien Babineau paced the Prairie Stars on day one, carding a 1-over 73 to sit tied for fourth place and moving to 3-over overall through 13 holes of his second round before play was suspended. Peyton Woods turned in an opening-round 70 (-2) and is six-over partway through his second round, placing him in a tie for eighth.
Daniel Edwards, competing individually, shot a 76 in his first round and is one-over in the second to stand tied for 12th, while Sacha Lamraski opened with a 77 and shares 25th. Vilgot Arleback and Jake Baldin each carded a 76 in round one to sit in the middle of the pack.
Also competing individually, Sahachat Noosong posted an opening-round 80 and is 5-over through 13Â holes of his second round, while Charlie Prins shot an 84 in the first and stands 3-over in round two.
Play will resume Tuesday morning in Caseyville.
