The UIS Softball team was able to complete the weekend sweep with two more wins on Saturday at the Blue Bridge Battle in Evansville, Indiana. UIS beat Ashland 10-2 in 5 innings and then Findlay 7-5 to move to 9-3 on the season.Â

Isabella Wilson drove in her fourth and fifth runs of the game with a single in the top of the third

Ashland got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the third, scoring a run on a fielder's choice

The Eagles scored one more run in the bottom of the 5th with a sacrifice fly

Alexis Carroll (4-1) earned the win with 2 strikeouts and allowing 0 earned runs
GAME TWO VS. FINDLAY (W, 7-5)

Findlay came out quickly with three runs in the top of the first inning

UIS responded in their half inning, starting with a Ramsey Armstrong RBI single

Jacy Watts drove in two runs with a single to make it 3-3 after the first inning

Jacy Watts added two more RBIs in the bottom of the third to take a 5-3 lead

The Oilers were able to force a run across in the top of the fifth to make it a one-run game

Taylor Zawacki gave herself an insurance run in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI single

UIS added one more run in the bottom of the sixth to make it a 7-4 game

Taylor Zawacki (2-2) earned the win, striking out 9 and only allowing 1 earned run

The Prairie Stars will return home to host the Springfield Invitational next weekend. The Stars face off against Parkside on Friday (2 & 4) and Hillsdale on Saturday (12 & 2).
