UIS Suffers Road Loss to Drury

The UIS women's basketball team fell to 10-9 (8-5 GLVC) on Saturday with a road loss to the Drury Panthers.
Game Summary
  • Saharra Murphy hit her third three-pointer of the year to start the game. Drury proceeded to turn the ball over four times in the next two minutes as UIS jumped ahead 9-3. Drury bounded back to grab their first lead with 5:20 to go in the first quarter
  • The Panthers held on to the lead, extending it as far as 12 points in the second quarter
  • UIS cut the margin to four points by the intermission by shooting 43.8% from the floor as Drury turned the ball over eight times  
  • The second half started similarly to the first, with a Prairie Stars three-pointer (Liz Uhl, assisted by Jessenia Lawson). Jessenia Lawson then made a jumper for the first of ten lead changes in the third quarter 
  • UIS used three-point shooting to gain on the Panthers in the second half, averaging 46.7%
  • UIS hit back to back three pointers to start an 8-0 run with under five minutes on the clock 
  • The final minutes of play included two made layups and four made free throws for Drury and five-of-six made free throws for UIS
  • Drury escaped with the 77-68 win
