UIS track and field competed in twelve events at GVSU's Bill Clinger Classic on Friday. The day was highlighted by a strong showing in the 5,000 meter races and an NCAA provisional mark by Cort Ross in the invitational heat of the men's 3,000m. 

Meet Summary

• Cort Ross led the way for the Prairie Stars by winning the men's invitational 3,000m in a GLVC #1 time of 8 minutes and 16 seconds. It was an NCAA provisional mark
• Four Prairie Stars on the women's team finished in the top-10 of the women's 5,000m, including Maddie Miller who was 2nd overall in a GLVC #8 time of 17 minutes and 54 seconds
• UIS men's track also claimed four of the top 10 spots in the 5,000 meter run
• Khaniya Higginbotha won her heat of the 200m dash by just over half a second, finishing 20th overall from heat seven
• UIS ran a total of 16 GLVC top-18 marks
